Marvao

OK, I’ve got 30 minutes.  Paid for 24 hours but that connection isn’t working so I got the free 30, now 29, minutes…

Marvao is a walled city, small, with castle, high on a hilltop overlooking vast stretches of land.  You can see all the way (6 km or so) to Spain.  Easy ride from Evora.  Staying at a Pousada, pretty, not luxurious.  Restaurant with spectacular views.  Walked to castle, climbed ramparts, took a LOT of photos (way too many).  Then again around sunset took even more photos.  Boring, I know, but what can you do?  Not everyday you see a spectacular sunset behind a castle.

Not much to do here.  Quiet town, few residents.  But so pretty we’re glad we came.  Will leave after breakfast tomorrow.

Trip sounds great! Want to hear all about everything Celtic you discover–those Neolithic ruins sound amazing and are proto-Celt, I think. Very similar to a lot of what was going on in Brittany, at Karnac.

    Much love, K
